Letitia Long, a former director of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, has been appointed chairperson of the board of directors at the Intelligence and National Security Alliance.
INSA said Tuesday Long will succeed John Negroponte, who will move to the role of chairman emeritus of INSA on Jan. 1, 2016 and be responsible for the alliance’s strategic direction.
Negroponte said Long is “a respected leader with a strong grasp of the issues facing the [intelligence community].”
Long’s government career has included roles such as deputy director of the Defense Intelligence Agency; deputy defense undersecretary for intelligence for policy, requirements and resources; and deputy director of naval intelligence.
