Intelsat CEO Stephen Spengler has been appointed to serve on the satellite services company’s board of directors.
Spengler has led the company’s effort to develop the EpicNG high throughput satellite platform, the company said Thursday.
He succeeds Denis Villafranca, who resigned from the board.
“We’re pleased to welcome him to the board, where he will continue to contribute to our efforts to build value for all our stakeholders,” said David McGlade, executive chairman of the Intelsat board.
The three-decade telecommunications and satellite industry veteran has previously served as Intelsat’s deputy CEO, president, chief commercial officer and executive vice president of sales of marketing and strategy.
