Northrop Grumman and the National Science Teachers Association have launched a new education initiative intended to build up the teachers’ science, technology, engineering and math instruction skills.
The Northrop Grumman Foundation Teachers Academy is designed to equip middle school science, engineering and technology teachers with an understanding of what skills the future workforce needs, NSTA said Tuesday.
“We are very excited about the academy and its potential impact to expand and enhance the pipeline of diverse, talented STEM students,” said Sandra Evers-Manly, Northrop Grumman vice president for global corporate responsibility and president of the Northrop Grumman Foundation.
“Our educators are fundamental to creating and sustaining our children’s interest in STEM and we hope the academy will support that effort.”
Northrop Grumman and NSTA will select teachers who will join various immersion programs and workshop related to science, engineering and technology.
